The Center for GIS and Spatial Analysis has more than 15 years of experience providing mapping, GIS, and spatial analysis services to the West Chester University community, local agencies, and businesses. In collaboration with the University's Center for Community Solutions and other University partners, we connect our faculty, students and geospatial resources to serve the needs of the regional community.

The Center can provide services in a variety of areas, including: 3-D modeling, business analytics, census analysis and mapping, land use planning, disaster planning, georeferencing, raster analysis, hydrological modeling, ecological analysis, equity planning and assessment, spatial optimization, urban greening, and web mapping and website development, and StoryMap development, using a broad arrange of tools with public, private and our own generated data.
Recent examples of some of our Faculty-led projects include the development of a 3-D Urban Model for the West Whiteland Township, an online interactive map of members of the West Chester Business Improvement District (BID) and the West Chester Chamber of Commerce, a Retail Market Analysis for East Fallowfield Township, an analysis of a Revitalization plan for the Borough of South Coatesville and Zoning Amendments to incorporate Fair Housing provisions and other updates; a locational area analysis for the Fame Fire Station Company; coordination of the WCU Sustainability Advisory Council.
