BACHELOR OF ARTS IN WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES
30 Semester Credit Hours/10 Classes:
Required courses (15 Credits)
Courses should be taken in the order listed below
- WOS 240 (Spring): How to do things with Feminism
- WOS 306 (Fall): Transnational Feminism
- WOS 399 (Spring): Women of Color and Material Culture
- WOS 405 (Fall): Feminist Theory (or PHI 405; formerly WOS/PHI 385), prerequisite: 6 additional WOS credits
- WOS 410 (Spring): Feminist Research Methodologies (Capstone), prerequisite WOS 240 and 6 additional WOS credits
- Elective Courses (15 credits)
- With an advisor, students may choose other WOS and cross-listed courses
- No more then 3 courses/ 9 credits may be taken in any one department (except Women's and Gender Studies)
- At least 2 courses/6 credits must be completed at the 300-400 level
MINOR IN WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES
18 Semester Credit Hours/6 Classes:
- Two Required Courses
- WOS 225: Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies
- One WOS 400 level course: WOS405 - Feminist Theory; WOS407 - Queer Theory; or WOS410 - Feminist Methodologies (prereq-student must have taken two prior WOS courses)
- Four Elective Courses:
- Students may choose other WOS and cross-listed courses
- No more than two courses may be taken in a single department (except in Women's and Gender Studies)
- Additional courses may be applied to the minor with the approval of the Chair of Women's and Gender Studies
