Our campus offers three types of resources. Confidential and Privileged, Confidential, and Non-Confidential. Confidential and privileged resources will not report the incidents to the university. Confidential resources are resources that will not report the name of the survivor but are required to report basic information to the University. Non-Confidential resources are resources that are required to report incidents to the university.

• The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County: Provides a variety of survivor services and a 24-hour hotlines of support for those who either: were harmed in Chester County, or Reside in Chester County (this includes university students)
  • The sexual assault/rape hotline is 610-692-7273
• Domestic Violence Center of Chester County: Provides a variety of survivor services and a 24-hour hotline for those who experience relationship violence who either: were harmed in Chester County or reside in Chester County (including University Students
  • Their domestic violence hotline is  610-431-1430

• Aunt Flo Dispensers

  • West Chester University has partnered with Aunt Flo to make menstrual products accessible in many large women’s gendered restrooms and single user restrooms across campus.

    • If you encounter an issue with any dispensers, please contact the Center at cwge@wcupa.edu

• Center for Women and Gender Equity

  o   Menstrual products (tampons, pads and pantiliners) are also available outside of the Center’s office, Lawrence 214, any time Lawrence Hall is open.

On-Campus:

• West Chester University Student Health Center
  • Provides free barriers, STI testing, contraception, emergency contraception, and pregnancy testing to WCU students in Commonwealth Hall 
• Center for Women and Gender Equity
  • Provides free barriers outside of our space Lawrence 214
• RamBoxes (a project of Wellness Promotion)
  • Order a Rub Hub box with barriers to be picked up discreetly outside Commonwealth Hall

Off-Campus:

• Planned Parenthood
  • Provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive services for everyone including: STI testing, family planning support, reproductive services, preventative screenings, as well as many other forms of care
  • Planned Parenthood has locations all around Pennsylvania
• Chester County Health Department
  • Located here in West Chester, the Chester County Health Department provides free STI/HIV testing during their clinic walk-in hours
  • The CCHD also provides HPV vaccinations free of charge to individuals 26 and under
• Family Services of Chester County- Project ONE
  • Assists Chester County residents who are HIV positive with housing, substance abuse, and medical care
  • Provides support groups for HIV positive individuals as well as HIV prevention education
• Mazzoni Center
  • Provides health and wellness services in an LGBT-focused environment, including HIV and STI testing
  • Offers support groups as well as support for HIV positive individuals

West Chester University provides lactation spaces to support breastfeeding mothers returning to work, school, or visiting campus. Each room offers a clean, secure, and private space for women who need to express breast milk or nurse while on campus. Individuals should bring any personal supplies needed with them.

West Chester University has identified a number of single occupancy restrooms on campus. These restrooms were either initially created as single occupancy (original) or converted to single occupancy to provide more private bathroom facilities for the campus community (converted). In the converted restrooms, please make sure to lock the door when entering! There is also one single occupancy shower on the first floor of the Student Recreation Center.

All of these restrooms are identifiable on the interactive campus map.

The Center for Women & Gender Equity has a number of books available for students to reserve on topics such as: (1) Trans Inclusivity, (2) Feminism, (3) Masculinity, (4) Gender Studies, (5) Sexism, (6) Ethnicity, (7) Race, (8) Body Image, (9) Women's Health, (10) Sexual Health, and more! Our library has over 150 books.
