Computer Facilities:

There are no computer facilities located at the South Campus Apartments. 

Elevators: There is no elevator located in the buildings.
Kitchenettes: There are kitchens located in every apartment.
Laundry Rooms: There is a laundry room located in every building's courtyard area.
Photocopiers: There is no photocopier located at the south campus apartments.
ResNet: ResNet is the computer network provided to students living on campus. ResNet is a student's access to the university network and the World Wide Web.
Study Rooms: There is an all-purpose space located in South Side.
All-Purpose Room: An all-purpose room is located in South Side.
Television Lounges: There is currently no TV located within the South Campus South Side Facility.

History

The original South Campus Apartment Complex was built in 1993. Four of the eleven apartment buildings have been named for former West Chester University faculty members: Benner Hall for William R. Benner, Antonowich Hall for Dr. Alexander Antonowich, Clokey Hall for John W. Clokey, and Leach Hall for Muriel Leach.

Apartment Set Up

The South Campus Apartments offer semi-independent living with the benefits of WCU supported services. Residents can enjoy the beauty and tranquilly of the rolling hills of Chester County while still being only minutes away from North Campus and the classroom. The apartments are located conveniently across the street from Farrell Stadium and Sturzebecker Hall. The apartment buildings are either two or three stories and offer three different living options for approximately 500 residents:

  • two double occupancy rooms for four residents (limited availability)
  • two double and one single occupancy rooms for five residents
  • one double and three single occupancy rooms for five residents (limited availability)

All apartments are fully furnished, carpeted and have a living/dining area, full kitchen and bathroom.

Each building has a centrally located laundry room. All apartments have central air conditioning and cable access. Parking is distributed throughout the complex and the University buses provide regular service between the complex and North Campus during the academic year.

All double bedrooms are approximately 12' X 14' and all single bedrooms are 8' 5" X 12', except for I002 and J008 which measure 10' X 12'. Windows measure 54" high X 64" wide except for the single bedrooms D207, D208, F214 and F215 where they measure 54" high X 31" wide. The kitchen is equipped with a range/oven, full size refrigerator/freezer, and ample cabinet space and breakfast nook. The bathroom consists of a double sink, a private toilet and shower. The living/dining room is furnished with a sofa, chair, and dining room table with matching chairs and coffee table. Each bedroom has a bed and desk, a desk chair, dresser and closet or wardrobe.

Mail

You will be issued a mailbox and key when you check into your apartment. Mail is picked up from and delivered to the residence halls and apartments Monday through Saturday. There is no mail delivery on Sundays or holidays.
