The Returning Student Housing Application Process is Moving to January!

Planning to live on campus for 2027–2028?
Guided by student feedback, the returning student housing application process for WCU Managed and USH Affiliated housing is moving from October to January. This gives you more time to plan and weigh your options.

What does this mean for you?

• No need to rush your application.  There’s no advantage to applying the moment the application opens. As long as you submit your application during the application period, you’ll be considered for housing.
• You’ll have the fall semester to find potential roommates and explore where you want to live next year.
• By January, you'll have a semester behind you: your grades, your schedule, your budget, and a clearer idea of what next year looks like.
  
  

Who is this housing application for?

Returning students who want to live on-campus in WCU Managed or USH Affiliated housing for Fall 2027 – Spring 2028.  

When to apply:

Returning Student Housing Application for On-Campus Living 

• Opens Monday, January 11, 2027, at 12:00 p.m.
• Closes Thursday, January 21, 2027, at 12:00 p.m.

The first round of housing offers begin February 1, 2027

What to do before the application opens:

• Explore and compare housing options (WCU Managed, USH Affiliated, and Off-Campus), costs, and what is the best fit for you. Visit the Returning Student Housing Webpage for more details.
• Start thinking about roommates and look for upcoming roommate matching events.
• Plan with confidence: While housing demand can vary from year to year, in the 2026-2027 housing process, all incoming and returning students who requested WCU Managed Housing or USH Affiliated Housing before July 1 and completed all required reconfirmation steps received a housing offer for Fall 2026.
• Ask questions!
  WCU and USH Housing teams will be available at the Commonwealth Hall Leasing Center:
• Wednesday, October 7 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Thursday, October 8 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
