Weeks of Welcome (WoW) is a campus-wide series of large and small events designed to help you find connections, belonging, and engage with campus life at WCU. Beginning with move-in and continuing through Homecoming, WoW offers opportunities to meet new people, get involved, and build community. Whether you're new to WCU or returning for another year, there is something for every Golden Ram.
New Students | Aug. 20 - 21
Your first days at WCU are just the beginning of your Golden Ram experience. Before the rest of campus moves back in, there are a series of fun and engaging events designed just for you to meet other students, explore campus, and start building your community. There are also select events that are mandatory for first-year students. See below for more information.
All Students | Aug. 22 - Sept. 27
Weeks of Welcome is not just for new students! Beginning August 22, all returning students are also invited to take part in the many events and activities planned that will connect you with new people, build on campus traditions, and help you continue to make the most of your WCU experience.

Ram Rally

Ram Rally is the ultimate celebration of WCU pride, featuring interactive games and activations, high-energy performances, and a showstopping fireworks display over Farrell Stadium. Feel the excitement and energy of our Ram Fam as we light up the night and kick off the year with this WCU tradition!
Golden Hour with Student Affairs

Comedy Show ft. Elijah Nevels

Asplundh Concert Hall
Rising comedian Elijah Nevels is bringing his quick wit, hilarious storytelling, and high-energy comedy to Weeks of Welcome. Grab your friends and kick off the semester with a night of nonstop laughs!

After checking out the comedy show, join us on the Academic Quad to keep the good vibes going! Enjoy live music, free food, and dancing into the night.

Rams in Community is an interactive program for all incoming residential students, focusing on building a commitment to community.
Title IX Session
Sunday, August 23, Time Based on Residence Hall and Floor
This program will teach incoming Golden Rams what Title IX is and how we can all contribute to a safe and caring community.
New Student Convocation
Sunday August 23rd, 1:45-2:45 pm
Get ready to hear from President Bernotsky as well as speeches from student leaders, witness performances from our talented student groups, and remember to say hi to Rammy when you see him! The Class of 2030 Photo to immediately follow Convocation.
Class Photo
Sunday August 23rd, 3:00-3:30 pm
Join us for the Class of 2030 class photo! Immediately following Convocation, students will be ushered to the academic quad to form the number "2030", representing their class year.

Events outlined in purple labeled [WoW Signature Event] are considered signature events. These high-energy events and campus traditions are designed to help you celebrate, connect, and make the most of campus life.
Events outlined in yellow are labeled [Find Your People] (FYP) events. FYPs are smaller, low-pressure events centered around shared interests, hobbies, and identities where it's easy to meet people and build connections.
