Handshake
Handshake is your one-stop career platform that connects you with internships and jobs opportunities. It highlights Career Development Center and employer events that happen on-campus, off-campus, and virtually.
Students can use Handshake to:
- Apply to jobs/internships
- Schedule appointments with the staff and student staff from the Career Development Center
- Network with and connect to employers
- Learn more about upcoming events
*Please note that all resumes uploaded to Handshake will receive a brief review by a CDC staff members. Students and alumni can access our Online Resume Review tool for instant feedback on their resume, email their documents to cdc@wcup.edu, or schedule an appointment for a more thorough resume review.
How to Schedule an Appointment:
- Once signed on, select the Career Center button and you will find an option labeled ‘Appointment’. From here you will select the topic you wish to discuss and then select the day and time that works best for you. Your counselor will be altered, approve the selected time, and send you any follow up instructions if necessary.
Students in Final Semester at WCU - Important Reminder:
- You have continued access to Handshake as an alumnus but you must update your update your primary email from your WCU school email to a personal email address. Click here for details on how to update your Handshake email before graduation.
Students
All current WCU students have an account in Handshake. Sign on using wcupa.joinhandshake.com. Login in using your WCU email and password (single sign on credentials).
Alumni
No longer using your WCU login? Alumni are always able to create and request an account. Use the link below to register. Note, you can use any email address – it does not have to be your WCU account.
Employers
Create your Handshake (link: https://joinhandshake.com/employers/) to post full-time, part-time, internship and post-graduate openings free of charge on the site as well as request interviews, attend our career fairs, and connect with WCU students and alumni.
