Let’s give a round of applause to our awesome WCU College Research Liaisons! ORSP’s Research Liaisons serve as a valuable resource for faculty navigating the research process. They offer guidance on grant funding opportunities, interdisciplinary projects, and connect researchers to the wide range of services available through ORSP. Acting as a bridge between departments and research support, they help streamline processes and answer questions along the way. We truly appreciate their time, expertise, and dedication to supporting and strengthening the university’s research community!

  • Dr. Juliet Wunsch

    Dr. Juliet Wunsch

Professor Juliet Wunsch is a theatre artist whose work centers on storytelling and visual communication, exploring history and social impact through contemporary techniques. With support from a Provost Research Grant, she developed two exhibits at the Knauer Art Gallery this year. The first examined the origins and impact of New Sweden on the Delaware (1638–present), while the second explored the evolution of traditions through pageantry, using the Swedish Lucia tradition as a case study. Both exhibits incorporated theatrical storytelling and hands-on audience engagement to foster self-reflection and empowerment.

Student Outreach

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) has focused on continuing to advance our student research opportunities and to include a more diverse student population. We have collaborated with various offices at WCU to promote greater access to research and creative experiences.

The ORSP held a Fall and Spring event for all WCU students to learn about the paid research opportunities at WCU and engage in one-on-one discussions. Additionally, ORSP has held workshops with student organizations.

The ORSP held a table at the Admissions Office Fall Golden Visits to promote student research experiences to prospective students and their families.

The ORSP collaborated with CAE to share resources and flyers with advisors to support advisees with research and creative activity opportunities.

The ORSP collaborated with FYE to share resources and flyers regarding research experiences with team leaders. This included a introductory worksheet to help first-year students with the process.

A Spring and Summer II workshop held for students in the ASP to learn about and engage in the research or creative activity as an experiential learning experience.

The ORSP is actively collaborating with the foundation to find a sponsor for Research and Creative Activity Day (RCAD) to help increase the number of opportunities for WCU students.
