LTC William Atwell

Lieutenant Colonel Atwell (LTC) is a native of Pensacola, FL, and graduated from Samford University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. LTC Atwell earned a Master's degree in Administration in 2018 from Central Michigan University. LTC Atwell is the Professor of Military Science (PMS) and the head of the Military Science department for the Dauntless Battalion at Widener University. The Dauntless Battalion encompasses Widener, Villanova, and West Chester Universities. Prior to LTC Atwell's arrival, he was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, KS, and served as an advisor/consultant for senior-level organizations in the Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Atwell was commissioned as a Military Intelligence officer and branch detailed to Field Artillery, serving his first few years in the Army as an Artilleryman. LTC Atwell's first assignment was in Schweinfurt, Germany, as the Charlie Company, 1-2 IN Fire Support Officer in 2008. Lieutenant Colonel Atwell deployed in November 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (08-09) in Iskandariya and Diwaniyah Provinces. In 2009, LTC Atwell assumed the position of 1-2 IN's Mortar Platoon Leader. In this position, LTC Atwell was responsible for training a brigade of the Emergency Response Unit in Diwaniyah. He served as the Quick Reaction Force Officer in Charge on multiple occasions. LTC Atwell was then selected as 1-77 FA's HHB Executive Officer in 2010 and remained in position until 2011. LTC Atwell's career course follow-on assignment was Squadron Intelligence Officer, 6-8 CAV, 4 IBCT, 3ID at Fort Stewart, GA in 2011. LTC Atwell was selected as the Brigade Assistant Intelligence Officer for the 2012 JTRC rotation and subsequent Operation Enduring Freedom deployment in 2013. LTC Atwell completed a 10-month deployment to FOB Shank in Logar Province, Afghanistan. LTC Atwell was responsible for coordinating targeting efforts with different tiered organizations, Special Access Program management, Intelligence Current Operations, ISR management, SCIF establishment and termination, and managing intelligence product dissemination. In 2014, LTC Atwell moved to Fort Huachuca, AZ, worked in the United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence's G5 office, and focused on Fort and Intelligence strategic planning. LTC Atwell assumed command of Alpha Company, 309th MI BN in 2014, and supervised the training of future Counterintelligence professionals and cadre. Following his command, LTC Atwell oversaw the MI Basic Officer Leaders Course and taught until 2017.

Upon graduation from the Command and General Staff College, LTC Atwell was the I Corps G2 SIGINT officer at JBLM, WA. LTC Atwell participated in numerous Warfighter Exercises with Joint and International partners and helped set the standard for nodal-based targeting in the INDO-PACOM area of responsibility. LTC Atwell was then selected to be the 109th E-MI BN Operations Officer. LTC Atwell trained and certified teams and crews to support conventional and SOF operations worldwide in 2019. In 2020, LTC Atwell was selected for the 201st E-MIB Operations Officer position and deployed in support of Operations Freedom Sentinel and Resolute Support at Bagram Airbase, Afghanistan. During the deployment, LTC Atwell helped plan and support conventional and SOF forces throughout the Combined and Joint areas of operation with organic ground and aerial ISR and planned the Army ISR drawdown throughout Afghanistan in 2020. LTC Atwell was then selected as the Intelligence Planner for the CA Regional Support Team for Joint Task Force North in San Diego, CA, in 2021. LTC Atwell supported federal law enforcement agencies with a counter-narcotic, counter-transnational organized crime, and counter-drug trafficking organization focus in the NORTHCOM area of responsibility. LTC Atwell's team was responsible for the seizure of over $200,000,000 in narcotics and supporting equipment.

Lieutenant Colonel Atwell is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course, the Signal Intelligence War Fighter Course, the Joint Firepower Course, the Joint Targeting Staff Course, the Joint Targeting Battle Damage Assessment Course, and the Army Space Cadre Basic Course, Phase I and II. Lieutenant Colonel Atwell is a graduate of the Army's resident Command and General Staff Officer Course.

Lieutenant Colonel Atwell's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with C Device, Army Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Action Badge, as well as multiple unit and service ribbons.

SFC Charles Kohut

SFC Kohut is originally from Cherry Hill, New Jersey entered the United States Army in late 2005 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was trained as an Infantryman (11B). His subsequent positions and duty assignments include: Driver / Assistant Gunner, MK 19 / M240 Gunner, Team Leader, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachutist Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, NC; Squad Leader, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Carson, CO; Drill Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 79th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, OK; Weapons Squad Leader, Rifle Platoon Sergeant, Heavy Weapons Platoon Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, Fort Drum, NY; Operations NCO, 3rd Army, US Army Central, Shaw Air Force Base, SC. SFC Kohut has completed three deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. SFC Kohut now serves as the Military Science Instructor for Military Science at West Chester University for the United States Army Cadet Command where he teaches the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Classes.
