Curriculum Vitae

Ian C. Vereen is an adjunct faculty member in Music Therapy at West Chester University and Montclair State University, where he teaches Music Therapy Percussion Techniques and serves as a clinical evaluator for music therapy students. He is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow (NMT-F), professional percussionist, and mental health clinician.

In addition to teaching at WCU, Ian’s clinical work involves mental health counseling at the Pediatric Psychology Center of Chester County and music therapy through his private practice, Neuroscapes: Integrated Therapy Services, which serves clients across New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania from prenatal through end-of-life care, with an emphasis on pediatric and adolescent neurodevelopment.

Ian received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Therapy from Montclair State University and holds a post-master’s certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Pennsylvania Western University. He is currently completing a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at West Chester University in preparation for medical school.

His professional service includes roles with the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association(MARAMTA), the New Jersey Association for Music Therapy (NJAMT), and the Coalition of Campus Organizers for Autism (CoCOA), and he is a member of Mensa. Ian received the John J. Cali School of Music Service Award (2019) and the Social Justice Through Music Award (2022) from Montclair State University.
