Brandywine Project Faculty Workshop

Last Workshop: Summer 2024

Faculty from West Chester University and across the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education participated in the 5th Brandywine Project Workshop, an exciting opportunity to develop or modify courses to focus on issues of sustainability, surrounded by supportive and creative colleagues from our region. Named after the Brandywine Creek watershed, WCU's workshop innovates by comprehensively integrating the local and global with the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. Novel workshop sessions include: the global context for higher education and sustainability (including the UN Sustainable Development Goals); social justice and sustainability; integrating whole campus immersive learning into the classroom; and best practices for teaching sustainability from students and faculty. Participants left the workshop ready to infuse sustainability knowledge and practices into their own courses and to inspire their students and colleagues to grow a culture of sustainability at their universities and beyond.
