Jay Kieke
I'm a Political Science - International Relations major with a minor in Sustainability
and Resilience and Certification in
Sustainability.
Fun fact: I like volunteering with Tree Campus USA and I work with animals.
Katie Fox
I am a fourth year Political Science: Applied Public Policy major with Minors in Spanish
and Geography and Planning. As I reflect on my past four years at WCU, I have gathered
several accomplishments and created even more memories! I have worked as a Commuter
Assistant for the University's Office of Off Campus and Commuter Services and have
served as President of my Panhellenic Sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon. Last year, I got
my first hands-on government experience working for the West Chester Borough. All
these things, as well as the challenging and interesting classes of the Political
Science Department, are helping to prepare me for my future as a government employee
and educator. When I graduate, I hope to further my education in graduate school.
I am happy to finish my final semester at WCU as a Civic Engagement Leadership Ambassador
:)

Throughout my three years as Golden Ram, I have truly learned many invaluable skills
and continue to build upon my knowledge with each new class I take both in about out
of the Political Science Department. I have grown to love our department and am so
glad to be a CELA who can assist prospective students and listen to current Political
Science students about any concerns or suggestions they may have. Outside of being
a CELA, I also serve as the Secretary of the Model United Nations club as well as
the President of the Golden Rams Society and enjoy taking time to be involved in as
many campus events as possible!
Megan Shaw
I am a senior Political Science and Spanish major. I am on the International Affairs
track within the department, so it was easy to incorporate language and culture classes
into my schedule. I got the opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain in Spring
2020 before the pandemic. I would recommend studying abroad to any student who has
the opportunity! I hope to attend graduate school to pursue a career in International
Public Affairs. I have been a Civic Engagement Leadership Ambassador since the Fall
2019 semester and have loved every moment. Throughout the semesters, we have increased
our social media presence to spread the word about amazing events that the department
offers. Outside of developing the social media accounts, my favorite part has been
been talking with prospective students and answering any questions about the department
or the university as a whole. Outside of the classroom, I am on the volleyball team
and serve on the executive board for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
