Bio
Dr. Lisa C. Huebner is a feminist sociologist of gender and professor in the department of Women’s and Gender Studies at West Chester University. For over 20 years, Dr. Huebner has studied, applied, taught, and published in the areas of intersectionality theory and sociology of gender as it relates to the experiences of sexual harassment and other forms of intimate violence. Her scholarly publications include the book, Catheters, Slurs, and Pickup Lines: Professional Intimacy in Hospital Nursing (under the name Lisa Ruchti) and the journal article “It Is Part of the Job: The Impact of Work Culture on How Waitresses and Nurses Perceive Sexual Harassment.” She has discussed the #metoo movement and sexual harassment as a live guest expert on NPR Radio Times and in NPR All Things Considered, NBC News, and USA Today.
Huebner is currently finishing a book with two WCU alums based on research conducted when they were students: Success at a Price: Women of Color College Students at a PWI.
