Bradley J. Flamm, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Bradley Flamm has been the Director of West Chester University's Office of Sustainability
since 2017 and collaborates closely with the large community of students, faculty,
staff, and neighbors active in WCU's Sustainability Council. WCU has adopted an ambitious
Climate Action Plan and includes sustainability as one of just five priority areas
in its current Strategic Plan entitled Pathways to Student Success. Dr. Flamm supports
initiatives in all areas of higher education sustainability, including energy management,
zero waste planning, curriculum development and training programs, sustainable food
systems, and sustainable transportation services.
Dr. Flamm brings to this work the skills he's developed as a professional transportation planner, a researcher and instructor, a food security analyst in sub-Saharan Africa, and an environmental advocate. He has taught community and regional planning courses at West Chester University, Temple University, and the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include sustainability in suburban communities and the environmental impacts of transportation systems and he has written for academic and popular publications, including Sustainability, the Journal of Transport Policy, the Journal of Public Transportation, and the Journal of Transport History.
