What is Think 30?
Think 30 is all about helping you save money, graduate in a timely manner, and start your advanced degree or career sooner. Our goal is to provide a high-quality education and help WCU Rams complete their degrees in four years, so they can save money and reduce debt.
The concept is simple: earn 30 credits per year to graduate in four years! This chart shows a couple of ways you can do it:

- Save money on your federal loans. The maximum federal loans the average undergraduate student takes in 4 years is $27,000, compared to $31,000 that they take if they were to graduate in 5 years.
- Of the first year, full-time students who started in Fall 2016 and were enrolled at the start of Fall 2017, 72.7% started their second year with 30 or more credits earned; 27.3% had earned less than 30 credits. More than two-thirds of those who earned 30 credits prior to the start of their second year went on to graduate within four years. Of those students who had earned less than 30 credits prior to the start of their second year, only 34.9% went on to graduate within four years.
- Students who had 30 or more credits earned prior to the start of their second fall semester were almost twice as likely to graduate within four years.
- Of those students who earned less than 30 credits prior to the start of their second fall semester, 60.4% were within just one 3-credit course of that milestone. A single winter or summer course can make the difference in keeping students on track to graduate in four years.
