Cheyney Backyard Bowl

 

The Backyard Bowl is a partnership with Cheyney University to encourage recreational sport participation and social interactions between the two neighboring PASSHE institutions located just under seven miles apart. This partnership gives college recreational sports participants an opportunity to compete, coordinate, officiate and connect with skilled peers from other schools to take the benefits of recreational competition to a higher level.

Outside of the extramural competition, the Backyard Bowl is also a platform for student development, as emerging officials and supervisors build skills and engage in all levels of learning through their experiences. Four different competitions were offered during the 2018-2019 academic year, flag football, 3v3 basketball, volleyball and 5v5 basketball.
