President Christopher M. Fiorentino

It is an honor to serve as the president of West Chester University, one of the top regional comprehensive public universities in the nation. Serving more than 16,500 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, West Chester University has earned a national reputation for excellence, value and student success. Located 25 miles west of Philadelphia on a leafy, 406-acre campus, WCU is the largest state-owned university in the Commonwealth and the premier state institution in such key measures as retention and graduation rates.

At WCU, we are a community of educators dedicated to developing graduates who succeed personally and professionally and contribute to the common good. We offer more than 100 undergraduate academic opportunities, more than 80 certificate and master's degree programs and four doctoral degrees. Our Philadelphia location offers certificates, bachelor's and master's degree programs in the heart of Center City. The Philadelphia center seeks to fill employment gaps within the city with a specific focus on fulfilling the needs of adult learners through undergraduate programs in business management, social work, and nursing and graduate programs in social work, transformative education, public administration, and urban education.. This satellite campus, along with our growing distance education initiatives, such as a highly competitive and nationally ranked online MBA program, help us extend our reach to more students who are seeking a quality WCU education.

Preparing our students to be global citizens is a key component of our mission and goals. The University is ranked 14th in the nation among similar institutions for study abroad opportunities by IIE, the gold standard in international education. Our students experience the world through traditional study abroad programs, as well as participation in conferences, service learning, music performances and more. Currently, the University has more than 180 international students from 40-plus countries.

Meeting community needs while placing students on a lifelong path of active citizenship is integral to our mission. WCU has been on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll since the program's inception. Each year, our students participate in more than 700,000 hours of public service through coursework and co-curricular programs.

West Chester University has accomplished much in recent years and the future is even brighter. I encourage you to learn more about WCU via this website and to visit us in person in the near future.

Sincerely,
Chris Fiorentino
